SAPIENS INSTITUTE
Our Vision
Sapiens Institute is a think tank that has been researching and reporting on China’s development with the goal of understanding the economic, political, and social risks and opportunities that are present in the current state of affairs. We have worked extensively with over a dozen world-class scholars in this field over the past four years, publishing interviews and hosting international conferences and debates.
China Meets the West, Nationalism and Democracy 1919 to 2019
In the Summer of 2019, we will hold our first conference, gathering the foremost scholars on China in honor of the hundred year anniversary of the May Fourth Movement. Our conference seeks to cover two major themes: The conflict between democracy and nationalism and the evolution of modern day China across disciplines in these hundred years after May Fourth. From this conference, we will produce a series of videos and journals seeking to unravel these major themes
